This training is aimed at professionals whose work brings them into contact with children and families and provides and introduction on the subject of safeguarding children and child protection.

Aims and Objectives

• Demonstrate an understanding of safeguarding and the key terms and definitions
• Identify the categories of abuse and recognise the signs and indicators of abuse and neglect
• Demonstrate an understanding of effective working together
• Understand the child protection process in Darlington
• Develop awareness of threshold for taking action
